First Security Bank is the worst bank I have ever used. One thing that I require from a bank is a reliable debit card. Even though my current debit card wasn't supposed to expire for another 10 months, they cancelled it and sent me another card. There weren't any fraudulent transactions on my account or anything; they just decided one day to send me a new card, 10 months prior to the expiration date on my current card. One day I find that my debit card is being declined, and I find this piece of mail with a new one. It's not even a new chip card -- it's exactly the same as my old card but with a new number. They've sent me new cards before (when the old card was expiring), but the new cards always used the same PIN. When I tried to use my normal PIN with this new card, I got a "wrong PIN" message. Baffled, I tried my PIN a couple more times and then I got a "PIN tries exceeded" message. There is no way to reset your PIN online, so you have to visit the bank during business hours. I eventually found another mail piece with a new PIN in it. Why? I didn't ask to have my PIN changed, and I'll have trouble remembering a new one. The earlier mail piece with the new card didn't say anything about a new PIN. It would have been helpful if the letter that came with the new card had warned me to watch out for a separate mail piece with a new PIN in it. It sucks to have your debit card unexpectedly declined even though you have money in your account and the card is supposed to be good for another 10 months. This bank is a pain in the ass.
